Remove, Edit and Add Custom Fields

Cirrus Shield CRM automatically includes in the organization, custom fields designed for each object (Leads, Contact, Company or Events). This pre-set fields are present in the organization to reduce the setup time of the administrator system.

In order to have an environment that corresponds to the specific needs of your company, Cirrus Shield allows you to customize custom fields or create new ones.


For example, if you want to rename the custom field “Lead Source” to ‘Origin of the Lead” because this how your organization refers to your leads. Then you can change the field name, and even its data type.

To Edit the Name of a Custom field (Ex: Lead Source):

  1. Log in to Cirrus Shield with your administrator profile.
  2. Click on your name, then select Setup.
  3. Go to the Object tab, and click on Details Lead.
  4. Click on the Custom Fields (On the top left).
  5. Search “Lead Source”, and click on Edit.
  6. Replace the Label by “Origin of the Lead”.
  7. Click on Save.

To Edit Data Type of a Custom field (Ex: Lead Source):

  1. Log in to Cirrus Shield with your administrator profile.
  2. Click on your name, then select Setup.
  3. Go to the Object tab, and click on Details Lead.
  4. Click on the Custom Fields (On the top left).
  5. Search “Lead Source”, and click on Edit.
  6. Click on the Button “Change the Field Data Type”.
  7. Choose Text Area, click next and save.

If you want to add a new Custom Field named “Lead Rating”, with the following value: Hot; Warm and Cold. Then you have to create a custom field with the Pick-list Data Type:

To Add a New Custom Field (Ex: Lead Rating):

  1. Log in to Cirrus Shield with your administrator profile.
  2. Click on your name, then select Setup.
  3. Go to the Object tab, and click on Details Lead.
  4. Click on the Custom Fields (On the top left).
  5. Click on New. Select the Pick-list Data Type for the field.
  6. Enter the Label of the field : Lead Rating.
  7. Enter the above values (Hot; Warm and Cold) by returning to the line after each word
  8. Click on Save

To Delete a Custom Field (Ex: Lead Source):

  1. Log in to Cirrus Shield with your administrator profile.
  2. Click on your name, then select Setup.
  3. Go to the Object tab, and click on Details Lead.
  4. Click on the Custom Fields (On the top left).
  5. Search “Lead Source”, and click on Delete.
