For example: Two contacts who have the same email. In this case, these records are considered a duplicate because the email address has already been used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Introduction-1024x218.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4779\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of the deduplication wizard<span style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> is to<\/span><span style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"> merge duplicate records.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Access the deduplication wizard<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can access the deduplication assistant from any object.<br>Let\u2019s take the <strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">Contact Module<\/span><\/strong> as an example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the Duplication Wizard button located in the actions menu on the top left:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Access-the-deduplication-wizard-1-1024x484.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5130\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Choose the criteria fields<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1- The administrator can choose one or more&nbsp;criteria fields&nbsp;when defining the duplicates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Section-2.1-1024x971.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4829\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>2- You can select 2 criteria fields: \u201cCountry\u201d and \u201cFirst name\u201d as criteria for identifying duplicates, the system will search for all contact records which have the same Country and the same First name. For example: France and Roland<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Section-2.2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4831\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>3- If you select 1 criteria field:&nbsp;<strong>First name<\/strong>, click on the \u201cFind duplicates\u201d button<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Section-2.3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4833\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>4- A list of all duplicate records will be displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-amber-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Merge duplicates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Section-3.1-2-1024x463.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4856\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You can display the duplicate records in alphabetical order or by number of duplicates by clicking on the column name.<br>The total number of conflicts is the total number of duplicate records of the chosen criterion. In this case 43.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Section-3.2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4858\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">For example, we can see that the first name Robert exists 7 times.<br>Merge all the people with the first name Robert so that they become 1 record. In order to do that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the &#8221;<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\">View<\/span>&#8221; button to display the results and all the information for contacts with first name Robert.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then select the contacts to merge. You can choose everything to merge or choose a number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Section-3.3-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4877\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose 3 records to merge <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then click on next.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A merge table will appear where the administrator will have to choose the main record and the duplicates to delete:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Section-3.4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4867\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you choose record #1 as the main record, you will find the information related to this record below (Salutation, Title, Last Name, Extension \u2026).<br>You can even choose to modify certain information by adding information of another record such as the Title of record 2, Last name of record 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Section-3.5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4869\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first gray column you can see the result of the merger performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the &#8221;Merge&#8221; button<br>An alert will appear to confirm the merger of these records <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cirrus-shield.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Section-3.6-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4960\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, contacts and their related objects will be transferred to the main record and this merge action cannot be undone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the &#8221;<strong>I understand, Merge now<\/strong>&#8221; button.<br>You will receive a header note showing that these records have been successfully merged.<br>You may receive an error message if there is an error.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\"><strong>Note that the table displays a maximum of 2000 duplicates. A small star will appear in each line in case records are missing.
