When importing data using the Data Manager, you can fill the \u201cLookup Relationship\u201d field values, in the csv file that you want to upload into the Cirrus Shield instance, with the values of the \u201cExternal Id\u201d field of the parent object, instead of filling them with the \u201cCirrus Shield Id\u201d values.<\/p>\n
The \u201cExternal Id\u201d field is a field that is used as the unique record identifier from an external system when importing data into the Cirrus Shield instance.<\/p>\n
To define a field as an \u201cExternal Id\u201d field, you will need to check the \u201cExternal Id\u201d property found when creating\/updating a field in the Cirrus Shield platform.<\/p>\n

In the current version of Cirrus Shield, only one \u201cExternal Id\u201d field can be defined by object.<\/p>\n
If an \u201cExternal Id\u201d field was defined on an object, the \u201cLookup Relationship\u201d fields to that object must be filled with the object \u201cExternal Id\u201d field values and not the \u201cCirrus Shield Id\u201d values.<\/p>\n
Example:<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s define on the \u201cUser\u201d Cirrus Shield standard object a custom field \u201cUser External Id\u201d of datatype \u201cText\u201d, and check the \u201cExternal Id\u201d property. Let\u2019s also create a custom object \u201cAccount\u201d.Then we will add 2 Cirrus Shield users having the following \u201cId\u201d (Cirrus Shield Id) and \u201cUser External Id\u201d fields values:<\/p>\n

If we want to upload \u201cAccount\u201d records into the Cirrus Shield instance, we will need to fill the \u201cAccount\u201d \u201cLookup Relationship\u201d fields (to the \u201cUser\u201d object) by the \u201cUser External Id\u201d field values and not the \u201cId\u201d (Cirrus Shield Id) field values.<\/p>\n
The csv file containing the \u201cAccount\u201d records to upload will be as follows:<\/p>\n

The \u201cAccount 1\u201d record will have as owner the user: \u201cNoemi Leroy\u201d and the \u201cAccount 2\u201d will have as owner the user: \u201cAlice Robert\u201d.<\/p>\n
Note that if we have typed for example \u201c123457\u201d instead of \u201c123456\u201d in the \u201cOwner Id\u201d column of the csv file, the record will not be inserted if no user has the \u201cUser External Id\u201d value \u201c123457\u201d.<\/p>\n
